At Ward Memorial Hospital, our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is a medically supervised program designed to help patients recover from heart conditions and improve overall heart health.
Cardiac rehab combines monitored exercise, education, and lifestyle support to help patients regain strength and reduce the risk of future heart problems.

Who Can Benefit from Cardiac Rehab?
Cardiac rehabilitation may be recommended for patients who have experienced:
Heart attack
Heart surgery or bypass
Coronary stent placement or angioplasty
Heart failure
Stable angina (chest pain)
Heart valve repair or replacement

These programs help patients safely return to daily activities while improving heart health and quality of life.

Patients who participate in cardiac rehab often experience:

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Ward Memorial Hospital is a medically supervised program designed to help patients with chronic lung conditions breathe easier, improve strength, and enhance overall quality of life.
The program combines monitored exercise, education, and support to help patients manage their respiratory disease and maintain independence.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is designed to help patients improve lung function, reduce symptoms like shortness of breath, and build confidence in daily activities.

Who Can Benefit from Pulmonary Rehabilitation?
Pulmonary rehabilitation may benefit individuals living with chronic lung conditions such as:
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Chronic bronchitis
Emphysema
Asthma
Pulmonary fibrosis
Lung surgery recovery
Other chronic respiratory diseases

If you experience shortness of breath during normal activities, pulmonary rehabilitation may help improve your endurance and breathing.

Referral Information

A physician referral is typically required to participate in cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation.
