At Ward Memorial Hospital, our Medical/Surgical Unit is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents of Monahans and the surrounding communities. Our goal is to help patients recover safely and return home as quickly as possible.
The Med/Surg Unit is a 25-bed inpatient unit designed to provide comfortable, high-quality care close to home.
Each private room includes its own bathroom and modern furnishings to help patients rest and recover in a welcoming environment.
Our unit provides care for patients of all ages who require hospitalization for illness, injury, recovery after surgery, or ongoing medical treatment. Our experienced healthcare team works together to develop an individualized plan of care tailored to each patient’s needs.
Comprehensive Inpatient Care
Patients admitted to the Medical/Surgical Unit may receive care for a wide range of conditions, including:

Acute illnesses and infections

Chronic condition management

Post-surgical recovery

Respiratory and cardiac conditions

Pain management

IV medications and treatments

Observation and monitoring

Wound care and recovery support
Our nursing staff provides compassionate, around-the-clock care while working closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support recovery and healing.

This team-based approach helps ensure patients receive coordinated care from admission through discharge. Multidisciplinary care planning is a key part of inpatient recovery and helps ensure a smooth transition home or to the next level of care.

Swing Bed Services
Patients who no longer require acute hospital care but still need additional time to recover may benefit from our Swing Bed Program. This program provides continued nursing care and rehabilitation services to help patients regain strength and independence before returning home.
