LVN PRN - Night

Position Summary:

Reporting and accountable to the Emergency Room Manager, the Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for coordinating nursing care for emergency room patients per established emergency nursing practice standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs patient assessments and notifies Charge Nurse and/or doctor of patient’s conditions and renders care ordered to ensure effective patient care, delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include professional demeanor, being customer service motivated and able to communicate effectively with patients, family, and healthcare personnel. Must be a team player

Education, Knowledge and Skills
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Must be currently licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Required Basic Life Support (ACLS) certification and PALS.
At least 2 years of experience in the Emergency Room preferred.

Requirements

Experience and Training
Minimum of six months experience, preferably in a hospital setting

Physical and Mental Requirements
Often work with infectious specimens. Infection control and sterilization protocols must be followed to minimize these hazards. Position requires frequent hours of standing and stooping.
