Sleep Technician

Position Summary:

Reporting and accountable to the Respiratory Therapy Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sleep technician will primarily be responsible for preparing equipment, gathering patient information, reviewing study protocols and providing explanations of procedures to patients of sleep studies.

Responsibilities include professional demeanor, being customer service motivated and able to communicate effectively with patients, family, and healthcare personnel. Must be a team player

Required Skills/Abilities:
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
•Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR (or obtain within six months).

Education and Experience:
•High School graduate or GED required.
•Must obtain CPSGT or RPSGT certification within one (1) year
Licensure: Current State of Texas Certification as a Certified Nurse Aid preferred but not required.
One (1) year experience as a sleep technologist preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
•Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.

History:

Ward Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access facility providing healthcare services to Ward County and 14 surrounding counties in the area. The hospital has served residents of Ward County since 1956.

The hospital features a Level IV trauma designated emergency room, in addition to a wide range of medical services including laboratory, radiology, general surgery, sleep wellness center, respiratory therapy and cardiac/pulmonary rehab, rheumatology, physical therapy, and two rural health clinics.
