Reporting and accountable to the Emergency Room Manager, the Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for coordinating nursing care for emergency room patients per established emergency nursing practice standards.

Performs patient assessments and notifies Charge Nurse and/or doctor of patients conditions and renders care ordered to ensure effective patient care, delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Other duties as assigned.

Special skills required of the LVN include professional demeanor, be customer service motivated and be able to communicate effectively with patients, family, and healthcare personnel. Must be a team player.

Education and Experience Required:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must be currently licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Required Basic Life Support (ACLS) certification and PALS. At least 2 years of experience in the Emergency Room preferred.
