CNA/Medical Assistant PRN - RHC

Position Summary:

Reporting and accountable to the Clinical Manager, the CNA or Medical Assistant will assist the Provider by checking patients into exam/treatment rooms, obtaining vital signs and chief complaint and confirming patient medical history as indicated. Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth Clinic operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct nursing care for patients. Performs patient assessments, notifies provider of patient's conditions and renders care ordered to ensure effective patient care, delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include professional demeanor, being customer service motivated and able to communicate effectively with patients, family, and healthcare personnel. Must be a team player

Education, Knowledge and Skills
Must be certified CNA/Medical Assistant registered in the State of Texas
Must have CPR Certification
High School graduate or GED required.

Requirements

Physical and Mental Requirements
Often work with infectious specimens. Infection control and sterilization protocols must be followed to minimize these hazards. Position requires frequent hours of standing and stooping.

History:

Ward Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access facility providing healthcare services to Ward County and 14 surrounding counties in the area. The hospital has served residents of Ward County since 1956.

The hospital features a Level IV trauma designated emergency room, in addition to a wide range of medical services including laboratory, radiology, general surgery, sleep wellness center, respiratory therapy and cardiac/pulmonary rehab, rheumatology, physical therapy, and two rural health clinics.
