Biography:
Dr. DeLeon earned his medical degree from Our Lady of Fatima University in the Philippines in 2018. He completed his family medicine training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa and successfully passed the American Board of Family Medicine certification examination. During his training, he gained extensive experience in outpatient primary care, inpatient medicine, preventive health, emergency care, and the management of complex medical conditions across diverse patient populations.
Before becoming a physician, Dr. DeLeon worked for several years as a registered nurse in emergency medicine, intensive care and utilization review in both the Philippines and the United States. His nursing experience included work at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, where he served in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.
That background gives Dr. DeLeon a broad perspective on patient care and the teamwork required to care for patients in many different settings. It also shaped his approach to medicine, including the importance of listening, patient education, and helping people feel respected and supported throughout their care.
